Areas of Practice

TRC focuses primarily on litigation matters. Led by a Senior Counsel, the firm's civil litigation department is one
of the strongest in Singapore. Although TRC is a medium-sized firm, it bears comparison with the largest firms in Singapore in its dispute resolution
practice. Private and corporate clients
are represented in a wide range of matters, including disputes relating to building and construction, employment, real property, intellectual property, product liability, personal injury, corporate and banking law.

TRC has considerable expertise in the fields of bankruptcy and insolvency, providing advice and representation with regard to litigation and non-litigation aspects of individual and corporate insolvency, acting for liquidators, judicial managers, receivers and trustees in bankruptcy, and advising creditors and debtors in situations leading to insolvency.

TRC's criminal law department has represented individuals before the courts at all levels and before professional disciplinary tribunals and other quasi-judicial bodies.

Traditionally, real property has been
a major practice area for TRC. This remains the case despite the recent downturn in residential conveyancing
work that has affected many law practices in Singapore. As well as acting in sales of residential and commercial properties, the firm acts for developers and has a thriving practice in all aspects of landlord and tenant law.

TRC also provides services to clients
with a broad range of needs in the areas
of banking and corporate law. Practice areas include banking and securities, commercial contracts, joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, venture capital investments, tax, company law and corporate secretarial services.

TRC has significant experience and expertise in a broad range of intellectual property matters, advising clients on trade mark, patent, design and domain name registrations. The firm is also heavily engaged in licensing and technology transfer arrangements involving a wide range of matters including biomedicine, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, computer contracts, semi-conductors, information technology and the Internet, as well as advising on sports and entertainment law.

The firm has wide experience in advising hi-tech start-ups, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises, multinational corporations, universities and research institutions, in the entire value-chain from collaborative R&D agreements, intellectual property registrations, enforcement and anti-counterfeiting to licensing, franchising, technology transfer and commercialization of technologies.

On the private client side, TRC offers
a full range of services in the areas
of employment law (including advice
on all aspects of contract drafting,
terminations and immigration issues),
wills and probate (drafting wills and
trusts and advising on the administration of estates) and family law (advice and representation regarding divorce, nullity, separation, maintenance and support, division of assets, custody, protection orders and adoption).
